Eric Scopel is an agronomist interested in ecological intensification and sustainability of annual cropping systems in the tropics. He studies the impact of soil tillage, mulching practices and cover crop intercropping on water and nutrient efficiency and co-designs innovative cropping systems based on agroecological principles.

Philippe Tixier is an agronomist and ecologist who uses empirical and modelling methods to study the role of functional biodiversity on agrosystems’ processes and their consequences on the design of sustainable cropping systems.
